My ideas for Photojojo

This new technology and media will fly by us sooner than we think. Not only do we need to be on top of what is current, we must be on top of what is to come -- before it comes.

Who doesn’t like free? If a person claims they don’t want something for free, it’s only because they think you really want them to pay for something else. Hogwash. You give samples, have giveaways, and promote them absolutely everywhere! And guess what? Because of all the wonderful people we are now genuinely chummy with, we have more people spreading the word about our product!

I don’t know about you -- I can only assume -- but I am one competitive female! I am a go-getting all-or-nothing loud-mouthed fool who would love nothing more than to kick your ass at Scrabble (or Words with Friends)! And that’s what people love about me!

Everyone loves games! No sane person can turn down an old fashioned contest, competition, or giveaway! But we need more innovative ideas, as well.

Social gaming is HUGE right now. Farmville, Office Heroes, Mafia Wars...I could go on. Photojojo needs to break the mold even more for social gaming! Apps for Facebook, mobile devices, and even just in-browser games would be perfect.

A specific idea I had for the reusable underwater camera that Photojojo recently released, was that for every one of these purchased, X employee will spend Y second (on film) in a water tank/pool/et cetera. Sharks may or may not be included -- but we don’t have to tell Joe from Accounting that before he takes the dunk of faith.

My overall idea to get people excited about Photojojo and our products would be a check-in application. Foursquare, Gowalla, Loopt and GetGlue are just the beginning of mobile social apps, and I intend on making Photojojo the end all.

Imagine how excited our consumers would be about a mobile scavenger hunt a la photography! You download the app. Add friends: new friends, old friends, and of course full Twitter, Facebook, maybe even Foursquare integration. Then, you begin your journey. You check-in not only by clicking a button, but by taking a photograph. For example, to check-in at Starbucks you must snap a photo of your barista, or your empty coffee cup, or even a photo of the random lady sitting inside drinking a Grande White Chocolate Mocha by herself. Either way, the Starbucks logo has to be SOMEWHERE.

What’s in it for the people besides fun and photography and social networking? Oh, we have Top Shots (or Mayorships)! Every week, everyone votes for “Best Photo” from each venue/business. Whoever has the most votes (you are unable to vote for yourself, but nice try!) that week, is Top Shot (Mayor).

This could be Photojojo’s app. This could be big. I will leave the nitty gritty details for a face-to-face interview, however (as with the social gaming app ideas).
